Super soft fabric, neckline is so flattering, wore hiking and for a work meeting with a blazer over.
I debated what rating to give the tank. In quality and style it’s like 4.5 or 5 stars, but the sizing is 2.5 starts. Their 5x is not a true 5x. I usually wear a 3x/24 in other brands but ordered a 5x so it could be loose. I did check the website measurements before ordering. It arrived quite quickly and the material feels amazing. The cut and style of the tank combined with the fabric texture makes it a great article of clothing. However, the sizing is on the small side and larger bodied folks should know this is they consider ordering. Because as someone who usually wears a 3x I know that this 5x fits like a 2-3 x in other brands. It was very firm fitting even before washing it. Hopefully with this in mind Alder can either expand sizing range or update their size chart so this “5x” is called a more accurate size. Also quite disappointed in this review form- it doesn’t even offer 5x or 6x as options when selecting “size purchased”. If you’re gonna offer some items up to a 6x then your review form should sure as heck reflect that. So I am forced to select the largest size they list on this form- a 4x rather than my actual purchased size.
I tried the reversible T in a medium/large and it was a tad to bulky on me to be flattering so I opted for a medium in this tank. It’s snug but comfortable and I love the color so much I kept it. Next time I might go for a large though. I am not a huge fan of the shine the material has but it’s not noticeable with a dark color. This tank is certainly more expensive than other brands but it feels like better quality and I like the cut and color. Hopefully it lasts a long time. I wear it under a dressy work top so I can run to yoga after work and be dressed for class.
I. Love. This. Shirt. It is like a second skin. So soft and comfortable I could hardly tell I was wearing a shirt at all. I want it in all colors!!
As someone who likes things to fit a little more loosely, I understand this product might not be the perfect one for me but I wanted to try it anyway. As such, I ended up having to size up twice (ended with a 5x with a 40inch chest) to get a shirt that fit the way I wanted to but then ended up having the arm holes hang too low and show my bra. The shirt itself is a bit thin as some of the other reviews say. It does feel nice when it first arrives, however air drying as suggest left it feeling a bit more harsh. If the supply-chain sustainability is your primary focus and you're looking for a nice basic layer, this is the shirt for you. If not, I'd say look elsewhere.
