the material was the only good part, the fit was skin tight like leggings (which I did not want), and they came with a hole near the back pocket. I am currently trying to exchange them for a medium. (I'm guessing I just got a defective pant in the wrong size and still like Alder as a brand)

Stretchy, durable and comfortable

I wore these pants hiking in colorado, Joshua tree, and Iceland. They are comfortable and during, i just wish they were also water resistant. I love the pockets and the clip, the fit is very flattering and doesn’t make you look bulky. Surprisingly the material doesn’t get overheated easily, and for colder weather i layered leggings underneath. I have a 25-26 inch waist and 36 inch hip, but have pretty thin legs. I’m wearing an XS right now and they fit snugly, but will probably purchase a S in the future when i gain a few more pounds.

All-time favorite pants!

This is the second pair of these pants that I have bought from Alder and I am totally obsessed with them. With the first pair I bought, I was in between sizes so went for the larger size. That pair (bought September 2023) have a more baggy, casual fit, and I have worn them on long-distance flights, around the house, and for walking the dog and they have never let me down and have held up well over time. This most recent pair, one size down, are still very comfortable but much more form-fitting, which I appreciate for wearing to the office, in and around the city, and on hikes. One thing I have noticed is that the material in my second pair (bought March 2024) seems a little bit thicker and less fleixble, but I'm hoping that means they will last a long time. Also, they have so many pockets! Let's make this a standard for women's clothing!! In summary, I absolutely love these pants and will likely buy a third pair at some point (though will note I did buy both pairs on sale, which I'd likely try to do again, as a grad student!).

My favourite one-and-onlys

I have the open air pants in navy (the very originals from Kickstarter), merlot, yellow, and forest green, two 28" and two 32", collected over the years. It felt greedy to order the blue spruce but I jumped at the sale since my navy pair have been worn through and repaired a couple times now, and I'm SO GLAD I did. The colour is so good, and the fit and key ring and pockets and comfort all remain absolutely top notch. I have only taken them off to wash them. Even my 6-year-old said "ooh I like your pants mama!". Compliments all 'round. Thanks alder <3
